Political Cartoons 2nd period

Since Habeas corpus was considered the most fundamental of rights by the founding fathers the act was incorporated in the first article of the U.S. constitution. Habeas corpus ensured that the executive branch could not hold people without cause. This political cartoon demonstrates without Habeas corpus we all lose, the executive branch will become too powerful and this branch could infringe on the rights of U.S. citizens.
LIMITED GOVERNMENT & SEPARATION OF POWERS

POPULAR SOVEREIGNTY
This cartoon  demonstrates the power of the people. The popular vote of the president, congress, or any political office represents the satisfactory of the people. The percentage usually indicates whether the people will be inclined to vote for that individual or group for a particular position in office. A low percentage means the people are not happy with the current office. The cartoon emphasizes the influence the people have in government, the importance of popular sovereignty.
